TV Mounting in Uptown

From the historic Uptown Theatre to the Vietnamese storefronts along Argyle Street, this neighborhood mixes vintage courtyard buildings with modern high-rises near the lake. We bring the right hardware for both plaster and drywall.

Same published prices as everywhere else we serve: $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with mounting hardware included and no trip fee for Uptown. Bigger TVs take more care to lift and level, so we price in three simple size steps, published up front. The wall still doesn't change the price, except tile (+$50). On a 75″ or larger TV, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. Every install carries our lifetime warranty — if a TV we mounted ever comes loose, sags or goes off level, we come back and fix it free — and we're insured. Optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount, in-wall wire concealment, or soundbar mounting are available if you want them.

Homes in Uptown

Many of the high-rises along Marine Drive have concrete walls, and that changes how a TV goes up. Concrete takes masonry bits and concrete-rated anchors, and it usually rules out running wires inside the wall, so a $35 raceway strip is the common answer unless the unit has a drywall wall to work with. Away from the lake, in Buena Park and Sheridan Park, it's vintage apartment buildings, greystones and some large older houses with plaster walls and radiators. There's no surcharge for concrete, brick or plaster in any of them.

Just Moved to Uptown?

Moving into a lakefront building in Uptown usually comes with a reserved elevator, a time window, and a management office that wants a certificate of insurance from every contractor. A COI is available on request. You're already doing that paperwork for the move, so handle the TV install in the same round: the living room, the primary bedroom, a second bedroom or den, maybe a screen facing the dining table. Put all the TVs on one visit, up to 5 on the booking form, and the building deals with one contractor, one time.

Shelves, pictures, or furniture assembly during the same visit — $80/hr, billed on site in 1-hour increments. Not included in the install total below.

Is Any Of This Going On Tile?

Tile is the one wall that costs extra — $50 per TV. It destroys drill bits, and it's the only surcharge we have. Plaster, brick and metal studs are all normal Chicago walls and stay included.

Frequently Asked

Can you mount a TV on the concrete wall in my Marine Drive condo?
Yes. Concrete is included in the base price. We drill with masonry bits and use anchors rated for concrete and for your TV's weight. Wires can't usually go inside a solid concrete wall, so most concrete installs use a $35 raceway strip. If there's a drywall wall in the room that works for viewing, a $60 in-wall run is often possible there.
I'm getting a 77″ TV for my Uptown high-rise. Do I need two installers?
Not necessarily. Mounting a 75″ or larger TV is $150, and there's no extra charge if you help lift it onto the wall. If you'd rather not, a second installer is $75 per visit. Either way, reserve the elevator with your building ahead of time, and tell us if management needs a COI before the install.
Do you install TVs in Uptown?
Yes — we install and mount TVs throughout Uptown and the rest of Far North Side, usually with same-day or next-day availability.
How much does TV mounting cost in Uptown?
TV mounting is $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with a lifetime warranty on every install. For 75″ and up, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. The wall doesn't change the price except tile (+$50), and optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount or in-wall wire concealment are priced separately.
Is there a trip fee for Uptown?
No. Our published prices are the same everywhere we serve in Chicago, including Uptown — no trip charges, no hidden fees.
