Authorized MantelMount Dealer

TV OVER THE
FIREPLACE

A TV above a mantel sits too high to watch for more than ten minutes without your neck complaining. A MantelMount pulls it down and out to eye level, then swings it back flush when you're done. We're an authorized dealer, so we bring the mount with us.

Why a normal mount doesn't work over a fireplace

Mounting a TV above a mantel puts the screen roughly 60 to 70 inches off the floor. You end up watching at an angle your neck was not designed to hold, and after a while people quietly stop using the room.

A tilting mount helps a little by angling the screen down, but it doesn't fix the height — you're still looking up. A MantelMount is different: it takes the weight and lets you pull the TV down and forward, often 20 inches or more, so it sits at normal eye level while you're watching. Push it back when you're finished and it returns flush against the wall.

The other thing worth knowing is heat. A working fireplace pushes warm air straight up the wall, and a pull-down mount lets you bring the screen out of that column when the fire is lit.

MantelMount run sales fairly often. Those are their retail prices as of August 2026, and we confirm the current number with your quote rather than quietly pocketing the difference. Soundbar mounting and wire concealment can be added at the usual rates.

The fireplace itself decides a lot

A pull-down mount carries real load and moves while it does it, so what it's anchored into matters more than with a fixed bracket.

Brick or stone is common on older Chicago fireplaces and is genuinely the strongest option, fixed with masonry anchors and a hammer drill.

Drywall over studs is fine as long as we can hit solid framing, which is the usual case above a mantel.

Stone veneer over drywall is the one to watch. It looks like stone and isn't, so the anchors have to reach the framing behind it. This is worth mentioning on the phone.

If you're unsure what your chimney breast is made of, a photo usually settles it before we arrive.
