Moving out, selling up, or the landlord wants the walls back. We take the TVs down, remove the brackets, and hand you the hardware. One TV or five at the same address, it's $100 — the count doesn't change the price.
One price, however many screens
Most of this work happens when someone's moving, and moving is already expensive enough. So dismounting is $100 flat for any number of TVs at one address. A studio with one screen and a house with five pay the same.
That's deliberate. Once we're at your address with the tools out, a second and third TV take minutes. Charging per screen would be charging you for our travel twice.
What you get: TVs off the wall and set down safely, brackets removed, and all the hardware bagged so it's with the mount when it goes back up somewhere else.
Getting your deposit back
The usual reason for a dismount is a lease ending, and the usual worry is what the wall looks like afterwards.
A mount that went in properly leaves a handful of anchor holes in a rectangle. That's normal wear as far as most landlords are concerned, and it's a small patching job. What causes actual disputes is a mount that was over-tightened into drywall with no stud behind it, which can pull through and take a chunk of the wall with it.
We'll tell you what we're looking at when we take it down. If the wall needs more than filler, better you hear it from us with time to sort it than from your landlord after you've moved out.
Taking it with you
If the TV is going to a new place, a few things are worth knowing before moving day.
Keep the bracket hardware together. Mount bolts are specific to the TV's VESA pattern, and a bag of unlabelled screws is how a twenty-minute reinstall becomes a trip to the hardware shop. We bag them for you.
Transport it upright. Flat on its back is how panels crack. If the original box is long gone, upright and padded in the car beats laid flat in a van.
The new wall may not match the old one. A mount that was fine on timber studs may need different anchors in a high-rise with metal studs. Worth mentioning when you book the reinstall.
