TV Mounting in Humboldt Park

Home to Paseo Boricua and its landmark steel Puerto Rican flags along Division Street, Humboldt Park is full of greystones and vintage two-flats with real character. Great housing stock, and we treat every home like it.

Same published prices as everywhere else we serve: $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with mounting hardware included and no trip fee for Humboldt Park. Bigger TVs take more care to lift and level, so we price in three simple size steps, published up front. The wall still doesn't change the price, except tile (+$50). On a 75″ or larger TV, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. Every install carries our lifetime warranty — if a TV we mounted ever comes loose, sags or goes off level, we come back and fix it free — and we're insured. Optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount, in-wall wire concealment, or soundbar mounting are available if you want them.

Homes in Humboldt Park

Much of the housing here went up between the 1890s and the 1920s. On a greystone two-flat, the limestone is only the front; side walls are typically brick, and interior walls are plaster over wood lath. Plaster throws off ordinary stud finders, so we confirm each stud with a small test hole or by tracking the lath nails, then bolt into wood so the plaster isn't carrying the TV. When the best wall turns out to be brick, the mount goes up with masonry anchors sized for the load. Radiators under the front windows also limit where a TV can sensibly go.

Just Moved to Humboldt Park?

New owners in Humboldt Park often have more rooms to fill than they expected: the front living room, the primary bedroom, a back bedroom turning into an office or kids' room, and a garden unit or basement that becomes the family room. Mounting all of them in one visit means a single appointment, one round of plaster dust, and wires fished through the walls before you paint or hang curtains. It also lets you choose each TV wall while the rooms are empty and easy to work in. List every room on one booking (the form takes up to five TVs) and we'll plan the day around the whole house.

Is Any Of This Going On Tile?

Tile is the one wall that costs extra — $50 per TV. It destroys drill bits, and it's the only surcharge we have. Plaster, brick and metal studs are all normal Chicago walls and stay included.

Frequently Asked

Will drilling into the plaster walls of my greystone crack them?
Cracking is rare when the work is done patiently. We drill pilot holes at low speed, find the wood studs behind the lath and bolt the mount into them, so the plaster itself isn't holding the weight. The wall plate covers the holes. Plaster costs the same as drywall, and if the TV ever sags or goes off level, the lifetime install warranty covers the fix.
We're converting our two-flat into a single-family home. When should we schedule the TV mounting?
The best window is after the walls are closed and patched but before the final coat of paint. In-wall wire concealment ($60 per TV) and a new outlet behind a TV ($250) are easiest while touch-ups are still on the list. If the old garden unit is becoming a family room, it's a good place for a bigger screen and a soundbar ($60 to mount).
Do you install TVs in Humboldt Park?
Yes — we install and mount TVs throughout Humboldt Park and the rest of West Side, usually with same-day or next-day availability.
