TV Mounting in Austin

Chicago's largest community area by population, home to the Jens Jensen-designed Columbus Park and blocks of classic bungalows and greystones. We serve Austin regularly — reliable service, published prices, no surprises.

Same published prices as everywhere else we serve: $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with mounting hardware included and no trip fee for Austin. Bigger TVs take more care to lift and level, so we price in three simple size steps, published up front. The wall still doesn't change the price, except tile (+$50). On a 75″ or larger TV, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. Every install carries our lifetime warranty — if a TV we mounted ever comes loose, sags or goes off level, we come back and fix it free — and we're insured. Optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount, in-wall wire concealment, or soundbar mounting are available if you want them.

Homes in Austin

Large parts of Austin are classic bungalow belt: brick Chicago bungalows built from roughly 1910 to 1930, with plaster walls, a full basement and an attic level under the roof. Larger Victorian frame houses and brick apartment buildings fill other blocks. Bungalow front rooms are narrow, and between the front windows, doorways and built-ins there may be only one wall that works for a TV, so placement comes first. In basements, paneling or drywall is usually fastened to furring strips over the foundation, and those strips can't carry a TV, so we anchor through them into the masonry behind.

Just Moved to Austin?

In a bungalow the TV list tends to write itself: the front room, the primary bedroom, the basement rec room, and the attic room upstairs that many owners use as a bedroom or den. Each of those spaces has a different kind of wall (plaster on the main floor, masonry or furring strips below, short knee walls under the roof), so doing them in one visit means the right anchors and mounts arrive for every room at once and you only clear one day on the calendar. If you're still unpacking, even better: walls are easier to reach before the bookcases go up. One booking can cover the whole house.

Shelves, pictures, or furniture assembly during the same visit — $80/hr, billed on site in 1-hour increments. Not included in the install total below.

Is Any Of This Going On Tile?

Tile is the one wall that costs extra — $50 per TV. It destroys drill bits, and it's the only surcharge we have. Plaster, brick and metal studs are all normal Chicago walls and stay included.

Frequently Asked

The basement in my Austin bungalow has wood paneling over block walls. Can a TV hang there?
Yes. Paneling and the furring strips behind it aren't strong enough on their own, so we drill through to the concrete block or poured foundation and use anchors rated for masonry. Block and concrete cost the same as any other wall. If there's an outlet nearby, the cords can run down the wall in an external raceway for $35.
Can you mount a TV in the attic bedroom of my bungalow, where the ceiling slopes?
Usually. The short knee walls under the slope are often lightly framed, so we look for solid framing first and choose a mount that suits the wall height. On a gable end wall the TV may have to sit higher, and a tilting mount ($50) lets you angle the screen down toward the bed or couch.
Do you install TVs in Austin?
Yes — we install and mount TVs throughout Austin and the rest of West Side, usually with same-day or next-day availability.
How much does TV mounting cost in Austin?
TV mounting is $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with a lifetime warranty on every install. For 75″ and up, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. The wall doesn't change the price except tile (+$50), and optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount or in-wall wire concealment are priced separately.
Is there a trip fee for Austin?
No. Our published prices are the same everywhere we serve in Chicago, including Austin — no trip charges, no hidden fees.
