TV Mounting in Portage Park

Anchored by the Six Corners shopping district and the park it's named for, this neighborhood is deep in Chicago's bungalow belt. We've mounted more TVs on classic Chicago brick bungalows than we can count.

Same published prices as everywhere else we serve: $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with mounting hardware included and no trip fee for Portage Park. Bigger TVs take more care to lift and level, so we price in three simple size steps, published up front. The wall still doesn't change the price, except tile (+$50). On a 75″ or larger TV, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. Every install carries our lifetime warranty — if a TV we mounted ever comes loose, sags or goes off level, we come back and fix it free — and we're insured. Optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount, in-wall wire concealment, or soundbar mounting are available if you want them.

Homes in Portage Park

Much of Portage Park was built in the 1910s and 1920s, and the construction inside those houses is fairly consistent. Outside walls are brick, with plaster applied either directly to the masonry or over wood furring strips. Interior walls are plaster on wood lath. So the TV wall in your front room might call for masonry anchors, while the bedroom wall across the hall needs a stud. Many bungalows here also have radiators, art-glass windows and a finished attic, all of which affect where a TV can go. Brick and plaster walls are included in the price.

Just Moved to Portage Park?

Bungalow floor plans make TV planning simple, because most follow the same pattern: a front room, a dining room that often becomes a second sitting area, bedrooms on the main floor, a finished attic and a basement rec room. That's four or five TV spots right there. Mount them all in one visit and the basement and attic get measured and wired under one plan. It's also finished before you haul dressers up the attic stairs and set up the basement couch. Put every TV on your booking and we'll handle the whole house in one trip.

Shelves, pictures, or furniture assembly during the same visit — $80/hr, billed on site in 1-hour increments. Not included in the install total below.

Is Any Of This Going On Tile?

Tile is the one wall that costs extra — $50 per TV. It destroys drill bits, and it's the only surcharge we have. Plaster, brick and metal studs are all normal Chicago walls and stay included.

Frequently Asked

My bungalow's living room is long and narrow with windows across the front. Where does the TV usually go?
A long side wall is usually the best bet, where the front windows won't throw glare straight onto the screen. If the seating ends up at one end of the room, a full-motion mount (+$100) lets you angle the TV toward the couch. We'll look at outlets, radiators and the window light with you before picking the wall.
Will drilling into the old plaster in my Portage Park house crack it?
Not if it's done right. We mark the spot, drill slowly with a sharp bit and never hammer anything into the plaster. Old plaster sometimes has hairline cracks already, and we'll point those out before starting. Once we've found the stud or brick behind it, the TV's weight hangs on the framing or masonry, not on the plaster itself.
Do you install TVs in Portage Park?
Yes — we install and mount TVs throughout Portage Park and the rest of Northwest Side, usually with same-day or next-day availability.
How much does TV mounting cost in Portage Park?
TV mounting is $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with a lifetime warranty on every install. For 75″ and up, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. The wall doesn't change the price except tile (+$50), and optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount or in-wall wire concealment are priced separately.
