TV Mounting in Dunning

A quiet residential area near Wilbur Wright College, filled with bungalows and post-war brick homes on wide lots. Easy access off the Kennedy makes scheduling in Dunning simple.

Same published prices as everywhere else we serve: $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with mounting hardware included and no trip fee for Dunning. Bigger TVs take more care to lift and level, so we price in three simple size steps, published up front. The wall still doesn't change the price, except tile (+$50). On a 75″ or larger TV, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. Every install carries our lifetime warranty — if a TV we mounted ever comes loose, sags or goes off level, we come back and fix it free — and we're insured. Optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount, in-wall wire concealment, or soundbar mounting are available if you want them.

Homes in Dunning

A lot of Dunning's housing is mid-century: brick Georgians, Cape Cods, ranches and raised ranches, much of it built from the 1940s into the 1960s. Homes from those years often have plaster over gypsum lath (sometimes called rock lath), which is harder than old wood-lath plaster and less likely to crumble when drilled. Later homes and remodels are usually drywall. Raised ranches put the family room partly below grade, so one wall down there is often concrete block behind paneling or drywall. We test each wall first, then match the hardware: stud mounting for framing, block anchors for masonry.

Just Moved to Dunning?

In a Dunning raised ranch or Cape Cod, the TV spots more or less pick themselves: the upstairs living room, the lower-level family room where everyone actually watches, the primary bedroom, and one or two kids' rooms. Cape Cods add upstairs bedrooms tucked under the roofline. Booking all of them together means you take one day off, not three, and the lower-level wiring gets sorted out at the same time as the main floor. Book before the furniture is placed and the family photos are on the walls, and add each TV to the same request.

Is Any Of This Going On Tile?

Tile is the one wall that costs extra — $50 per TV. It destroys drill bits, and it's the only surcharge we have. Plaster, brick and metal studs are all normal Chicago walls and stay included.

Frequently Asked

My raised ranch has wood paneling over block walls in the family room. Can a TV go on that wall?
Yes. Paneling alone won't hold a TV, so we go through it into what's behind, either the wood furring strips or the concrete block itself, using anchors made for block. Block walls cost nothing extra. Before drilling, we check whether outlets or cables already run behind the paneling, which helps us plan how to hide the wires.
Is my 1950s Dunning house plaster or drywall, and does it change the price?
It could be either, and some houses have both. Many homes from that era have a thin coat of plaster over gypsum lath, which looks like drywall until you drill into it. We can tell on the spot. The price doesn't change: plaster, drywall, brick and concrete are all included, and tile is the only wall that adds a charge.
Do you install TVs in Dunning?
Yes — we install and mount TVs throughout Dunning and the rest of Northwest Side, usually with same-day or next-day availability.
How much does TV mounting cost in Dunning?
