TV Mounting in Logan Square

Logan Square's grand boulevard system and vintage greystones make it one of the city's most architecturally distinct neighborhoods. We mount above fireplaces, on plaster walls, and in the open-concept rehabs that have taken over the area.

Same published prices as everywhere else we serve: $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with mounting hardware included and no trip fee for Logan Square. Bigger TVs take more care to lift and level, so we price in three simple size steps, published up front. The wall still doesn't change the price, except tile (+$50). On a 75″ or larger TV, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. Every install carries our lifetime warranty — if a TV we mounted ever comes loose, sags or goes off level, we come back and fix it free — and we're insured. Optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount, in-wall wire concealment, or soundbar mounting are available if you want them.

Homes in Logan Square

Two-flats and three-flats converted to condos make up a big share of Logan Square's housing, and many are duplex-downs: the first floor joined to a dug-out lower level with its own family room. Those lower levels usually have drywall on framing built in front of the foundation wall, so we find the framing and check what's behind it before mounting. Upper units are more likely to keep their original plaster. Near the Logan Square and California Blue Line stops, newer mid-rise buildings often use metal studs, which take different anchors than wood. Rehabs with exposed brick are common too, and brick is a solid wall to mount on.

Just Moved to Logan Square?

A Logan Square move often starts in a duplex-down or a freshly finished rehab, with a TV for the main living area, another for the lower-level family room, one in the primary bedroom and a smaller one for a home office. Putting all four up in one visit lets us plan the upstairs and downstairs wiring at the same time and open walls only once, before you paint or hang anything. If you're still furnishing, tell us where the sofa and bed will go and we'll set heights to match. Then book them together on one form.

Is Any Of This Going On Tile?

Tile is the one wall that costs extra — $50 per TV. It destroys drill bits, and it's the only surcharge we have. Plaster, brick and metal studs are all normal Chicago walls and stay included.

Frequently Asked

Our greystone on the boulevard has really tall ceilings. How high should the TV be mounted?
Tall ceilings tempt people to mount high, but your neck should decide. We usually aim to put the center of the screen near eye level from your main seat, even if that leaves a lot of wall above it. If the TV has to go higher, over a mantel for example, a tilting mount or a MantelMount pull-down keeps the viewing angle comfortable.
My rehab has an exposed brick wall. Can the TV go there, and what happens to the wires?
Brick is a strong wall for a TV, and we mount on it with masonry anchors at no extra charge. Running wires inside solid brick isn't practical, so the usual choices are a slim raceway strip ($35) painted to blend in, or placing the TV where the cables can drop into a framed wall nearby. We'll go over both on site.
Do you install TVs in Logan Square?
Yes — we install and mount TVs throughout Logan Square and the rest of North Side, usually with same-day or next-day availability.
