TV Mounting in Loop

Same published prices as everywhere else we serve: $100 for TVs up to 55″, $125 for 56″–74″ and $150 for 75″ and up, with mounting hardware included and no trip fee for Loop. Bigger TVs take more care to lift and level, so we price in three simple size steps, published up front. The wall still doesn't change the price, except tile (+$50). On a 75″ or larger TV, lend a hand with the lift at no charge, or we bring a second installer for +$75 per visit. Every install carries our lifetime warranty — if a TV we mounted ever comes loose, sags or goes off level, we come back and fix it free — and we're insured. Optional add-ons like a tilting or full-motion mount, in-wall wire concealment, or soundbar mounting are available if you want them.

Homes in Loop

Residential buildings in the Loop fall into two camps. One is older office and commercial buildings converted to condos and apartments, with plaster, heavy masonry and walls that rarely behave the way a stud finder expects. The other is newer concrete towers, including the high-rises around Lakeshore East, where partitions are metal studs with drywall and the structural walls and columns are poured concrete. Many towers restrict drilling into concrete floors and ceilings because of post-tension cables, so wall mounts are the norm. We use concrete-rated anchors on structural walls and steel-stud anchors on partitions, and confirm which is which before drilling.

Just Moved to Loop?

Downtown, the move itself is the hard part: a reserved elevator window, a loading dock slot and a building that wants paperwork first. Get the TVs onto that same schedule. If they're mounted right after the movers leave, the living room, bedroom and den are done before the couch is pushed against the wall, and management only has to approve one contractor visit and one certificate of insurance. Is Any Of This Going On Tile?

Tile is the one wall that costs extra — $50 per TV. It destroys drill bits, and it's the only surcharge we have. Plaster, brick and metal studs are all normal Chicago walls and stay included.

My Loop building needs a certificate of insurance before any contractor comes in. Can you provide one?
Yes. We're insured, and a COI is available on request. Many buildings want specific wording, such as the association or management company listed as certificate holder, so forward their requirements when you book. Sending them early gives the building time to approve the certificate before your appointment, which matters if you want the TVs up on move-in day.
Can you mount a TV on a concrete wall in my Lakeshore East condo?
Yes. Concrete is included at no surcharge. We drill with bits made for concrete and set anchors rated for the TV and mount. Cables can't run inside a poured wall, so they go in an external raceway ($35), or the TV can move to a nearby metal-stud partition where in-wall concealment ($60) works. It's also worth asking your building about any rules on drilling into concrete.
