The TV arrived, people are coming over, and it's still in the box. We keep same-day slots open most days for exactly this. $100 flat, same as any other booking — there is no rush fee and no premium for calling late.
How same-day actually works here
Plenty of companies advertise same-day and mean “we'll call you back today.” What we mean is that a van comes to your address and the TV is on the wall before the evening.
The honest mechanics: we hold open slots in the day rather than booking every hour solid a week out. Call in the morning and there is usually something. Call at four on a Saturday and there may not be. Either way you'll be told on the phone, not left waiting on a callback that decides your evening for you.
There's no surcharge for it. A same-day booking is $100, exactly like one made three weeks ahead. Charging extra for urgency has always struck us as taxing people for bad luck.
What we need to know on the call
Three questions and we'll know whether today is realistic:
- Roughly what size is the TV? Not for pricing — the rate doesn't change — but anything over about 75″ is a two-person lift and that affects scheduling.
- What's the wall? Drywall, plaster, brick, or a downtown high-rise. Brick and concrete need a hammer drill and masonry anchors on the van.
- Do you have a mount? If not we'll bring one. If you want wires hidden inside the wall, say so on the call — that changes how long the job takes.
Answer those and you'll get a straight yes or no about today, plus a time window.
When same-day is genuinely harder
We'd rather set expectations than over-promise. A few things make a same-day job unlikely:
A new outlet behind the TV. That's electrical work and takes longer than a standard install — usually better scheduled properly.
A Frame TV with a recessed box. Cutting the wall and burying the One Connect box isn't a rushed job, and if we need to source the enclosure it won't be on the van.
A specific MantelMount model. We stock the common ones, but if you want a particular model we may need to order it.
A standard mount on any normal Chicago wall, though — drywall, plaster, brick, metal stud — is a same-day job all day long.
Where we can get to today
Same-day depends a little on geography, since it's about what's already on the route. The city north of Cermak and the nearer suburbs — Evanston, Skokie, Oak Park, Park Ridge, Des Plaines, Niles — are usually straightforward.
Further out, Schaumburg, Palatine, Arlington Heights or up toward Northbrook and Winnetka, same-day is still often possible but depends more on the day's schedule. Call and ask; we'll be honest about it rather than booking you and rescheduling tomorrow.
