$80 Per Hour · Billed In 1-Hour Increments
SHELVES, ART
AND FLAT-PACK
The same anchors, levels and stud-finding that go into a TV mount apply to a floating shelf holding books or a mirror that would take the wall with it. $80 an hour, on its own or folded into your install appointment.
Shelves, mirrors and gallery walls
Anything heavy on a wall is the same problem as a TV: what's behind the plaster, and whether the anchor matches it. A floating shelf is worse than a TV in one respect — the load sits out from the wall on a lever, so a bracket that would hold a flat-mounted screen can still tear out.
Gallery walls are the ones people underestimate. Hanging eight frames so they read as a set takes measuring and levelling, not eight nails. That's usually an hour or two rather than the twenty minutes people picture.
Mirrors are the ones worth not guessing on. A large mirror is heavy, brittle and unforgiving, and it should be anchored into framing rather than hoping a drywall plug holds.
Flat-pack assembly
Media consoles, bookcases, desks, bed frames, wardrobes. Assembled square, solid and set exactly where you want it — which matters more than it sounds, because a bookcase built in the wrong corner of the room is a two-person problem afterwards.
Most single items land inside an hour. A wardrobe or a bed frame usually runs longer, and anything with doors needs alignment time at the end or it never closes properly.
If you're having a TV mounted anyway, adding the console it sits above is the efficient version of this — one visit, one trip, and we can line the two up together.
How the hour is billed
$80 per hour, billed in one-hour increments. No half hours, no minimum call-out on top, and it's the same rate whether it's shelves, art or flat-pack.
Tell us what's on the list when you book and we'll give you an honest estimate of the hours rather than starting the clock and seeing what happens. If it turns out quicker than expected, that's the direction we'd rather be wrong in.
Booked alongside a TV install, this gets added to the same appointment, so you're not paying for a second trip.
Got a list?
Tell us roughly what's on it and we'll estimate the hours honestly. Most people underestimate gallery walls and overestimate flat-pack.
